TL;DR
Senior Reliability Engineer (Robotics): Defining mission profiles and accelerated reliability test plans for generalist intelligent robots with an accent on electromechanical systems, failure-mode prevention, and quantitative reliability modeling. Salary: $175,000–$250,000 per year plus equity

Builds generalist intelligent robots through an integrated robotics stack spanning hardware, robot systems, infrastructure, foundation world models, and manufacturing scale-up.

What you will do

  • Decompose platform and subsystem requirements into mission profiles covering duty cycles, load spectra, and environmental exposure.
  • Translate mission profiles into accelerated test plans with acceleration factors, sample sizes, and pass/fail criteria.
  • Plan and support HALT/HASS, thermal cycling, vibration, and fatigue campaigns with test and design engineers.
  • Build and maintain FMEA/FMECA analyses and drive design changes that eliminate failure modes before hardware release.
  • Apply Weibull analysis, MTBF/MTTF modeling, censored-data survival analysis, and physics-of-failure acceleration models to test and field data.
  • Build reliability data infrastructure and reporting to track trends and update mission-profile assumptions as the platform scales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, reliability engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, including ownership of mission-profile development and accelerated test design.
  • Working knowledge of Arrhenius, Coffin–Manson, inverse-power-law, or similar acceleration models.
  • Hands-on experience with FMEA/FMECA, Weibull analysis, and MTBF/MTTF modeling.
  • Experience with motors, actuators, power electronics, or comparable electromechanical systems in active product development.
  • Ability to communicate reliability risks and recommendations to cross-functional engineering and program stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Reliability engineering experience in automotive, EV, robotics, semiconductor, or consumer electronics.
  • Experience establishing a reliability program or reliability requirements from scratch for an early-stage or prototype product.
  • Familiarity with low-voltage electronics, sensors, power-electronics reliability, mechanical fatigue, and structural durability.
  • Experience analyzing field-reliability or warranty data.
  • Experience scripting or building reliability-analysis and reporting tools with Python or similar technologies.
