Software Engineer (Contract, Argentina)

Location: Argentina (remote); approximately 12-month non-exclusive contractor engagement through Deel, collaborating with a distributed US- and Canada-based team.

What you will do

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to define requirements and deliver user-facing product experiences.
• Build and maintain full-stack capabilities for Talent Matching, Talent Rediscovery, and related workflows.
• Design search-backed features with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, including indexing, query design, relevance tuning, ranking, and semantic retrieval.
• Develop matching systems combining keyword, structured, semantic, and AI/ML signals.
• Partner with Applied ML and engineering teams to balance relevance, latency, reliability, infrastructure cost, and user trust.
• Write scalable production code, fix bugs, participate in code reviews, and build evaluation, observability, testing, and feedback mechanisms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience writing production code.
• Experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python; Ruby and Rails are preferred.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals, including React.
• Full-stack experience with backend systems, APIs, data modeling, and modern frontend development.
• Deep production experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch and search, ranking, recommendation, or matching systems.
• Practical production experience applying AI or ML techniques such as embeddings, semantic search, classification, or ranking; strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Experience with analytical databases.
