Software Development Engineer II Fullstack (React/Java)

Location: Remote in Colombia

hirify.global operates a local marketplace platform that connects buyers and sellers across the United States, including business verticals such as storefronts, auto dealers, services, rentals, and jobs.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, measure, and iterate on user experiences and backend services across five business verticals.
• Develop React and TypeScript interfaces alongside Java and Node.js services, GraphQL APIs, microservices, and data pipelines.
• Break down complex engineering problems and deliver features within committed timeframes.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and business stakeholders on feature development.
• Contribute to A/B testing, code reviews, shared components, automated testing, monitoring, alerting, and runbooks.
• Coach junior engineers, new hires, and interns; participate in a reasonable on-call rotation and use AI coding tools to improve development quality and velocity.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack skills with React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, modern web tooling, and Java.
• Understanding of microservices, distributed-systems fundamentals, data structures, and object-oriented design.
• Experience building or integrating REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot in a real engineering workflow.
• Ability to design, test, review, and deliver features end-to-end; a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, CI/CD, Agile development, Node.js, Python, webpack, or package-management tools.
• Experience with A/B testing platforms such as Statsig, LaunchDarkly, or Optimizely.
• Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake, or LLM-based APIs including Bedrock, Vertex AI, or OpenAI.
• Fluency in another modern object-oriented programming language.
