Senior Technical Implementation Architect, Interoperability (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, U.S. based; the role may require 10–20% travel.

Target pay range: $140,000–$155,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, competencies, and location.

What you will do

• Own technical planning and execution for strategic customer interoperability implementations from discovery through delivery.
• Evaluate feasibility, tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, system boundaries, systems of record, and integration responsibilities.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, interoperability workshops, and implementation planning with customers, partners, vendors, and internal teams.
• Interpret API specifications, FHIR Implementation Guides, authentication workflows, logs, JSON payloads, data structures, and architecture artifacts to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions.
• Translate complex customer requirements into practical implementation strategies and determine when Product, Engineering, Security, or Data involvement is required.
• Create implementation documentation, reusable integration patterns, technical tooling, and feedback for improving interoperability capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading customer-facing technical implementations, enterprise integrations, interoperability initiatives, or technical solution delivery.
• Experience acting as the primary technical owner for enterprise interoperability implementations and guiding technical decisions through delivery.
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, HL7 FHIR, SMART on FHIR, US Core, FHIR Implementation Guides, HL7v2, identity and authentication protocols, enterprise integration patterns, and healthcare data exchange.
• Ability to analyze technical documentation, API specifications, FHIR resources, authentication workflows, application logs, JSON payloads, customer data, and architecture artifacts.
• Strong systems thinking, customer communication, facilitation, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL, Python, scripting, APIs, automation, or technical tooling.
• Interest in automation, reusable tooling, or AI-assisted workflows for customer delivery.
• Relevant interoperability, API, cloud, identity, or integration certifications.
