Senior Software Engineer II (Stream Processing & Analytics)

Location: Remote within the United States; locations include Poughkeepsie, Lowell, Rochester, Tucson, Research Triangle Park, Armonk, Boston, Bellevue, Atlanta, San Jose, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Salary: $131,000–$245,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop Flink user-defined functions for sophisticated customer use cases.
• Design, develop, and operationalize user-facing interfaces and supporting cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Apache Flink community to establish standards and strengthen open-source foundations.
• Independently deliver complex software projects into production with a strong focus on quality.
• Improve the efficiency of the technology stack by adopting modern solutions and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain a mission-critical service with a 99.99 SLA across more than 88 AWS, GCP, and Azure regions while improving stability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of relevant stream processing experience.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
• Experience operating production cloud services and participating in an on-call rotation.
• Proficiency in Java and comfort working with Go and Python.
• Must be able to work without current or future visa sponsorship; hirify.global will not provide visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Background in distributed storage systems or databases.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and Kubernetes operators.
• Contributions to open-source projects, especially Apache Flink or stream processing projects.
