Senior Software Engineer - Kafka

Location: Remote within Canada, including Bedford, Calgary, Markham, Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa. Must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship. Applicants from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or the Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine who are foreign nationals on a work permit are not eligible.

Salary: CAD 105,200–154,200 per year for a full-time schedule. Some travel may be required based on business demand.

What you will do

• Design, code, unit test, and deliver component-level software solutions.
• Develop backend offerings using leading-edge and established technologies.
• Contribute to automated CI/CD pipelines and quality gates for continuous integration and delivery.
• Debug customer-reported problems and develop tested code fixes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in an Agile environment to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; a master's degree is preferred.
• Experience with backend development, component-level solution design, coding, testing, and delivery.
• Experience contributing to automated CI/CD pipelines and software quality stages.
• Experience debugging customer-reported problems and developing unit-tested fixes.
• Experience working collaboratively in an Agile environment.
• Must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Exposure to L3 support engineering.
