Senior Data Engineer (Web3)

Location: New York, New York; Miami, Florida; or remote within the United States. In-person onboarding at one of the company’s office locations is required.

Salary: $126,000–$180,000 annual base salary in New York, excluding discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain batch and real-time data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Develop scalable ETL/ELT systems using Python, SQL, Spark, Flink, Beam, or equivalent technologies.
• Build near-real-time data solutions using streaming, CDC, and micro-batch approaches.
• Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, analysts, product, finance, operations, and engineering teams to define requirements and SLAs.
• Establish data quality, validation, observability, monitoring, lineage, and alerting frameworks.
• Investigate production incidents, performance bottlenecks, data integrity issues, and fault-tolerance problems while documenting architectures and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
• Strong ETL/ELT pipeline design and optimization experience, with deep expertise in Python and SQL.
• Experience with large-scale data warehouses such as Databricks, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, software engineering fundamentals, and systems thinking.
• Experience with real-time or streaming systems, including Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Spark Streaming, or CDC frameworks.
• Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow and familiarity with governance, metadata, cataloging, lineage, and data quality practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in crypto, financial services, trading, markets, or exchange systems.
• Experience with blockchain, crypto, or Web3 data, including on-chain indexing and chain APIs.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, containerization, CI/CD, and Databricks optimization on AWS.
