System Administrator (Linux)

What you will do

• Own day-to-day IT operations for the Hannover site, including user support, onboarding and offboarding, endpoints, meeting-room AV, printers, and physical office IT.
• Administer corporate identity, SSO, MFA, collaboration, productivity, content management, and ticketing systems, including local access approvals.
• Maintain Linux servers, storage, networks, firewalls, virtualization, backups, and tested restore processes.
• Support Linux and Windows engineering workstations, source control, CI runners, embedded SDK build flows, containers, and technical license servers.
• Lead platform consolidation and infrastructure migrations while minimizing disruption to technical users.
• Implement security and endpoint standards, manage vendors and assets, document the environment, and coordinate with US-based DevOps, Legal, and external counsel.

Requirements

• 5+ years of system administration experience, preferably as the primary IT owner for a site or small company.
• Completed Ausbildung as Fachinformatiker, a relevant degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Debian/Ubuntu Linux administration skills; familiarity with RHEL is useful.
• Experience with corporate SaaS, enterprise identity, SSO, MFA, productivity suites, cloud content platforms, MDM, Windows, and macOS endpoints.
• Practical knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, and scripting or automation with Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Fluent German and professional working English are required. The role is on-site in Hannover, Germany and involves collaboration with colleagues eight time zones away.

Nice to have

• RHEL administration experience.
• Semiconductor or embedded engineering environment experience.
• Experience with modern and legacy version control, build and CI systems, containers, technical license servers, and platform migrations.
