Senior Infrastructure Engineer (OpenStack Ironic)

What you will do

• Design and own the full lifecycle of bare metal provisioning platforms using OpenStack Ironic.
• Build provisioning workflows for GPU-enabled and high-performance server platforms.
• Automate hardware onboarding, firmware configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across PXE/iPXE, BMC interfaces, and network boot.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the upstream OpenStack community.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the UK
• Strong experience with Linux systems and production infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Specialist knowledge of OpenStack Ironic and the provisioning ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of PXE/iPXE, DHCP, BMC technologies, and node lifecycle states.
• Experience with Redfish, IPMI, and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience contributing to upstream open-source projects like OpenStack, Ironic, or Metal3.
