Senior Systems Engineer (DevOps)

Location: Dublin, Ohio, United States; hybrid with three days per week on-site

What you will do

• Design, maintain, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure for the Wise Integrated Library System platform.
• Automate deployments, operational tasks, configuration management, provisioning, patching, upgrades, and platform maintenance with Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Lead production incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive improvements.
• Support customer environment deployments and collaborate with development teams on CI/CD and deployment processes.
• Create technical documentation and runbooks while mentoring colleagues and coordinating across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, platform engineering, or a related field.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience, preferably with RHEL.
• 6+ years of Ansible and automation or infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting, plus experience with SQL/MySQL.
• Expertise in monitoring, incident management, production support, analytical problem-solving, and communication.

Nice to have

• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools.
• Rundeck, Solr, or etcd experience.
• Networking knowledge covering DNS, routing, and firewalls.
• Cloud or hybrid infrastructure and ITIL/change management experience.
• Experience working with distributed or global teams.
