Senior Software Engineer (DevOps)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Boston office in Charlestown, MA; minimum 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $176,000–$183,500 per year in Boston

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate cloud and edge infrastructure for robotics software delivery.
• Maintain and optimize Ubuntu edge servers across hirify.global locations using AWS ECS Anywhere, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Develop server provisioning pipelines that image Linux systems and deploy application stacks during installation.
• Enhance CI/CD workflows for efficient testing and deployment across software teams.
• Debug complex network and application issues and support reliable production environments.
• Build developer tooling that improves engineering productivity and development velocity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps or Systems Engineering supporting production environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Deep knowledge of Linux systems and cloud infrastructure managed through Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong scripting skills with Bash or Python and experience with Docker containerization.
• Strong systems-level and network troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate, teach others, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
