Backend Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; at least 3 days in the office required. Travel is required 5–10% of the time. hirify.global is not offering relocation assistance.

Salary: $110,700–$171,800 USD per year, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable software components for hirify.global payment and commerce platforms.
• Develop payment services, transaction platforms, real-time payment solutions, and Buy Now Pay Later technology.
• Create design artifacts and collaborate with Product, Test, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum teams.
• Improve product quality, service technology, and new business flows across agile squads.
• Build software for merchants, businesses, and government customers.
• Analyze bugs, use debugging tools, and contribute to scalable, secure, and reusable engineering standards.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years of directly related experience.
• Alternatively, at least 5 years of directly related experience.
• Expertise in one or more general-purpose development languages, such as Java, C#, or C++.
• Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with a focus on quality and scalability.
• Knowledge of backend development, APIs, databases, systems integration, and data structures.
• Availability to work in the Austin office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Front-end development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, or React.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Knowledge of user interface design and web browser optimization.
