What you will do

• Design and deliver backend services for receiver-side financial features, including account structures and transaction flows.
• Write technical designs and RFCs, incorporating feedback from senior and principal engineers.
• Build integrations between receiver capabilities and global money-movement infrastructure like FX and compliance systems.
• Partner with Security and Compliance teams to implement AML, KYC, and regulatory requirements.
• Operate services at scale, defining SLOs and participating in on-call rotations.
• Mentor SDE1/SDE2 engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in designing and operating production distributed systems.
• Solid backend fundamentals including service-oriented or event-driven architectures and RESTful/async APIs.
• Experience with relational or distributed databases.
• Working knowledge of security and compliance considerations in regulated environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to own projects end-to-end from design through launch.

Nice to have

• Experience building financial products for emerging markets.
• Exposure to payments infrastructure such as card rails, ACH, or mobile money.
• Familiarity with AML/KYC frameworks, PCI-DSS, or SOC 2.
