Director, IT Infrastructure (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at either the Long Beach, California or Auckland, New Zealand facilities. Travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.

What you will do

• Develop IT support strategies, processes, and procedures for reliable, repeatable, and scalable technology delivery.
• Lead a global team of IT engineers supporting engineering, design, development, and manufacturing operations.
• Manage compute, storage, networking, operating systems, DevOps, cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Partner with Space Systems and Launch Operations leaders to prioritize infrastructure initiatives.
• Build a 24x7 global support model and maintain high availability, uptime, security, and compliance.
• Manage IT vendors, procurement, and commercial negotiations.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT infrastructure, operations, data centers, virtualization, O365, networks, support, and security.
• IT leadership experience in a globally diverse organization.
• Experience in high-tech, engineering, or manufacturing organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• US citizenship is required due to program requirements.
• Eligibility to access ITAR-regulated equipment and data is required for New Zealand-based applicants; nationality checks and background checks will be conducted.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-availability 24/7 cloud, AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.
• Technical expertise with Windows, Linux, VMware, iSeries, networking, SAN, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and access points.
• Experience with M&A due diligence, integration planning, and execution affecting IT.
• Experience in a rapid-growth environment.
