What you will do

• Lead the enterprise multidisciplinary engineering organization and its transformation from a program-based systems integrator into a mid-market OEM.
• Establish common engineering standards, governance, operating cadence, decision rights, and performance expectations across programs.
• Manage and mentor Engineering Directors across enterprise solutions architecture, integrated systems engineering, and software engineering.
• Own engineering execution against schedules, technical releases, design reviews, integration requirements, and customer milestones.
• Strengthen product-development gates, requirements traceability, configuration integrity, engineering change control, and transition into manufacturing and test.
• Lead engineering resource planning, recruiting, proposal support, internal R&D, and technical collaboration with program management, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and business development.

Requirements

• Security clearance eligibility is required.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace, defense, training simulation, advanced manufacturing, complex engineered products, or a comparable technical environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering organizations across hardware, software, systems, integration, or complex product development.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, governance, metrics, resource discipline, and accountability across multiple programs.
• Strong knowledge of requirements management, configuration management, engineering change control, technical reviews, release processes, and manufacturing or test readiness.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience in OEM environments and scaling engineering operations for repeatable product manufacturing.
• Experience transitioning products into low-volume, high-complexity or higher-volume manufacturing.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO, CMMI, or structured stage-gate environments.
• Experience with flight simulation, defense systems, aviation, mission-critical engineered products, or U.S. Government programs.
• Advanced technical or business degree.
