Senior Financial Analyst - Special Projects

Location: Hybrid work generally expected in San Antonio, TX, with potential for remote work; supports a government client in Falls Church, VA and San Antonio, TX.

What you will do

• Build relationships with executive-level clients and support program planning and project management for strategic initiatives.
• Execute special healthcare projects and provide strategic summaries and recommendations to improve key performance objectives.
• Perform financial analysis and modeling using accounting, budget, and manpower reports to create visual reports for leadership.
• Develop and implement process improvements, studies, policies, and procedures for functional areas.
• Research and interpret Federal, DoD, and Defense Health Agency policies and assess their impact on programs, budgets, and operations.
• Provide administrative support to department leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, including preparation of executive-level presentations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Detailed understanding of the Military Health System and programs supported by Defense Health Program appropriations.
• Significant prior experience working in the Military Health System.
• Experience with GFEBS and/or DEAMS.
• Knowledge of performance planning, MTF budgets, and outpatient and inpatient workload calculations.
• Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DoD financial management, Office of the Secretary of Defense regulations, and Defense Finance and Accounting Service regulations and manuals.
