Director of Accounting (Controller)

Location: Remote from the Philippines

Technology, services, and data company focused on psychiatry, providing an EHR, software solutions, and managed services to more than 800 independent psychiatry practices across 49 US states.

What you will do

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close across the general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll for three entities.
• Manage intercompany transactions, allocations, entity-level reporting, and consolidation into the parent company.
• Lead technical accounting research and documentation, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for software, RCM billing, and pharmaceutical projects.
• Transition the accounting function from the outsourced provider to an in-house operating model.
• Design internal controls, accounting policies, repeatable procedures, and cash and AP/AR processes.
• Lead migration from QuickBooks Online to a multi-entity platform, redesign the chart of accounts, and introduce AI-enabled automation.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years at Controller or Accounting Manager level.
• Hands-on experience working with or for a US-based company is required.
• CPA or an equivalent recognized certification.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, multi-entity accounting, and intercompany accounting.
• Experience establishing an accounting function and working as a hands-on player-coach.
• Deep QuickBooks Online expertise, including platform or tier transitions; NetSuite or another enterprise ERP is preferred.

Nice to have

• Big Four or equivalent public accounting or audit experience.
• Healthcare or healthcare technology experience.
• Familiarity with MSO structures.
• Experience with AI-enabled finance workflows or automation tools.
• Experience scaling an accounting function during rapid growth.
