Lead Engineering Technician (Subsea Robotics)

What you will do

• Oversee daily engineering R&D facility operations and coordinate technicians' work.
• Maintain equipment, manage calibration status, and ensure assigned areas meet 5S workplace standards.
• Act as safety lead, maintaining compliant operations and up-to-date risk assessments.
• Build electro-mechanical test hardware, including jigs, fixtures, and wiring harnesses.
• Execute electrical and mechanical test routines, capture and analyze data, and create test reports.
• Review engineering samples and sub-assemblies and provide first-line technical support.

Requirements

• HNC or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Competence in electrical and electronic engineering, with working knowledge of mechanical engineering and embedded software principles.
• At least 3 years of experience in a test-focused role or test equipment development.
• Experience supervising or managing personnel, assigning priorities, coaching, and mentoring technicians.
• Experience with multidisciplinary systems spanning electrical, mechanical, and software components.
• Strong knowledge of test equipment and platforms, data logging, technical documentation, Microsoft Office, and written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with National Instruments LabView and TestStand in test and measurement environments.
• Experience creating or modifying scripts and programs in Python, Visual Basic, C, or C++.
• Expertise in verification and validation, product certification, industry standards, and controlled data repositories.
• Experience in offshore or subsea industries or customer-facing roles.
