TL;DR
Principal Network Platform Lead (AI Infrastructure): Building and operating a programmable network platform for Nscale's global backbone and edge network with an accent on service orchestration, customer-facing APIs, and partner ecosystem integrations. Focus on designing network control-plane capabilities, automating service provisioning and lifecycle management, and leading production software engineering across Python, Go, Kubernetes, and network-as-code technologies.

What you will do
- Own the architecture, roadmap, and operation of the network platform across service orchestration, network automation, APIs, source-of-truth integration, and partner integrations.
- Design and build automation for the end-to-end lifecycle of network services, reducing customer onboarding time and manual configuration.
- Develop and govern APIs for internal systems, customers, and partners, including integrations with cloud exchanges, carriers, cloud providers, and DDoS vendors.
- Build automation for third-party provisioning, inventory, activation, and lifecycle management while maintaining data consistency across platforms.
- Lead production software development, CI/CD, testing, deployment, observability, reliability, and operational tooling.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on network programmability, service delivery, and long-term platform strategy.
Requirements
- 7+ years of platform engineering and/or network automation experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong production software engineering experience with Python and Go, including RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, gRPC, or similar interfaces.
- Experience with Git, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, release management, Kubernetes, microservices, and cloud-native development.
- Extensive experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jinja2, Nornir, Infrastructure-as-Code, and Network-as-Code in production.
- Knowledge of NETCONF, RESTCONF, YANG, OpenConfig, gNMI, streaming telemetry, service modelling, workflow orchestration, inventory management, and source-of-truth architectures.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence strategy across engineering, product, operations, sales, and leadership teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in a cloud provider, hyperscaler, telecommunications carrier, ISP, interconnection platform, or network service provider.
- Experience integrating with Megaport, Equinix Fabric, PacketFabric, Console Connect, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, or Google Cloud Interconnect.
- Experience with NetBox, Nautobot, customer-facing APIs, self-service service delivery platforms, or commercialising network products.
