What you will do

• Execute the EMEA media relations strategy across markets, aligning activity with business priorities, narrative themes, and reputational objectives.
• Manage inbound media enquiries, journalist engagement, interviews, press releases, briefing notes, and proactive thought-leadership campaigns.
• Plan and deliver media events, including the annual Media Summit, journalist roundtables, briefings, conferences, roadshows, and spokesperson visits.
• Serve as the first operational contact for emerging media issues, assessing reputational impact and escalating sensitive matters.
• Coordinate PR agencies, improve delivery processes, and challenge agencies on quality, judgement, and value.
• Monitor media coverage and journalist sentiment, reporting narrative trends, risks, opportunities, and activity results to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on media relations experience in financial services, either in-house or at senior agency level.
• Strong knowledge of EMEA media and business landscapes and experience managing engagement across multiple markets.
• Excellent news judgement and decision-making under pressure.
• Experience delivering thought-leadership communications, media events, and journalist engagement programmes.
• Strong drafting, briefing, stakeholder management, and crisis communications skills.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leaders, portfolio managers, economists, marketing, legal, compliance, risk, and external agencies.

Nice to have

• Experience in asset management, banking, insurance, or a closely related financial services sector.
• Working proficiency in one or more European languages, such as German, French, Italian, or Spanish.
