Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Hybrid role in Reston, Virginia; only local candidates will be considered. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

What you will do

• Implement and execute quality assurance activities across the full software development lifecycle.
• Analyze requirements, design test cases, execute tests, track defects, and support software releases.
• Test thick-client desktop applications, web applications, and web services or APIs.
• Perform automated testing at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.
• Collaborate with QA engineers, developers, and cross-functional teams in an Agile-focused hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment.
• Create and maintain end-user and administrator documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Five or more years of software quality assurance experience.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, test case design, defect tracking, and test execution.
• Experience with web, desktop, and API testing, as well as Agile development practices such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience with test management and ALM tools such as Azure DevOps or OpenText ALM.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; US work authorization and local availability are required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or Ranorex.
• QA-related certifications.
• Experience with Confluence, Azure DevOps, or Redmine.
• Basic to intermediate programming or scripting skills in Java or C#.
• QA experience in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services environments.
