Middle Market Payroll Specialist

What you will do

• Manage onboarding and ongoing payroll services for middle-market clients with varied structures across multiple states and localities.
• Analyze, enter, balance, process, and distribute payroll data and reports accurately and on time.
• Advise clients on payroll compliance, accounting-related operations, service issues, and process improvements.
• Build client relationships, provide training, attend client-site meetings, and support client satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate with internal business partners, contribute to audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and participate in testing payroll enhancements.
• Mentor Field Payroll Operations personnel and provide backup support to supervisors and other payroll functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Six to eight years of experience in payroll administration or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience with payroll administration, payroll accounting, client service, communication, organization, and managing multiple activities.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and explain payroll processes and compliance requirements to clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other applications.

Nice to have

• At least two years of hirify.global or PEO-industry payroll experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
