Staff Accountant Finance Automation & AI

Location: Hybrid role in Los Angeles, California

Salary: $80,000–$92,000 per year

What you will do

• Execute month-end and year-end close processes, including complex journal entries for accruals, amortizations, and reclassifications.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolve reconciling items, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal control procedures while supporting internal and external audits.
• Identify manual finance bottlenecks and implement generative AI and low-code automation solutions.
• Design, test, and maintain automated workflows for data preparation, reconciliations, approval routing, and exception tracking.
• Analyze transaction flows and validate ERP updates, patches, and integrations to protect accounting data integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in general accounting, month-end close, finance operations, or audit.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and transaction lifecycles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data manipulation.
• Experience with enterprise ERP systems or financial reporting platforms.
• Hands-on interest or experience with low-code automation tools or generative AI for data analysis and productivity.

Nice to have

• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience implementing finance-as-code or automated reconciliation solutions.
• Experience building and scaling modern finance processes.
