Staff Accountant Finance Automation & AI

Location: Hybrid role in Los Angeles, California, United States.

Salary: $80,000 per year.

What you will do

• Execute full month-end and year-end close processes, including complex accrual, amortization, and reclassification journal entries.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, document reconciling items, and ensure timely resolution.
• Support U.S. GAAP compliance, internal and external audits, and maintenance of internal controls.
• Identify and implement generative AI tools and low-code automation platforms to reduce manual data entry and modernize accounting workflows.
• Design, test, and maintain automated workflows for data preparation, reconciliations, approval routing, and exception tracking with Finance and IT stakeholders.
• Analyze transaction flows and support ERP updates, patches, and integrations to maintain accounting data integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in general accounting, month-end close, finance operations, or audit.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and transaction lifecycles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data manipulation.
• Experience using enterprise ERP systems or financial reporting platforms.
• Hands-on interest or experience with low-code automation tools or generative AI for data analysis and productivity.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative approach; ability to explain technical financial concepts clearly and coordinate tasks in a global or fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience implementing finance-as-code or automated reconciliation solutions.
• Strong interest in building and scaling modern finance processes from the ground up.
