Payroll Specialist

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States

Base salary: $60,000–$110,000 USD annually, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Process and maintain semi-monthly hourly and salaried US payroll using Workday.
• Support international payroll processes through CloudPay as opportunities arise.
• Conduct cyclical payroll audits and reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Maintain payroll tax jurisdictions and process relevant payroll mail.
• Support payroll implementations and integrations.
• Provide payroll support and customer service to internal and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of hands-on US payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll operations.
• Working knowledge of FLSA and labor regulations, including overtime calculations, exemption classifications, and wage-and-hour compliance.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax withholding laws and regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience performing accurate data reconciliations and payroll audits.

Nice to have

• Workday payroll experience or ability to learn enterprise payroll systems quickly.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
• Experience with international payroll processes or global payroll platforms such as CloudPay.
