Senior DevOps Developer

Location: Ontario, Canada — Remote

Salary: $107,000–$157,300 starting base salary annually for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range.

What you will do

• Build, operate, and continuously improve highly available, resilient, and scalable cloud-native services.
• Design solutions with Infrastructure, Systems, Software Engineering, and Platform teams to improve developer productivity, reliability, security, and availability.
• Maintain Kubernetes workloads, AWS infrastructure, MongoDB-backed services, observability platforms, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Define and facilitate adherence to SLO and SLI targets, and lead service reviews, fire drills, chaos testing, incident response, and postmortems.
• Develop deployment and configuration tooling, automate CI/CD processes, and coordinate major upgrades without downtime.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, resolve performance and stability problems, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years as an SRE Developer.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, architectures, and methods, with the ability to work independently and prioritize concurrent tasks.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, or Linux/Unix shell scripting; cloud-native applications; Docker; and Kubernetes.
• Experience managing SaaS databases such as MongoDB Atlas, DynamoDB, or Redshift.
• Experience with configuration management, cloud automation, CI/CD tools, and AWS services including Step Functions, IAM, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and Lambda.

Nice to have

• Agile software development experience.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Knowledge of networking and security concepts.
• Experience with log ingestion, monitoring, and discoverability tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, or Bugsnag.
• Security or audit experience, including SOC 2 or FedRAMP.
