Sr. SW Test Engineer (Payment Processing)

Location: US - Foster City, CA; hybrid position with at least 3 days in the office. The role requires 5–10% travel and is not eligible for immigration.

Salary: $109,700–$170,200 USD per year, with possible bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Develop test cases, execute tests, and report defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Scrum teams to refine user stories, plan sprint work, and execute test scenarios.
• Maintain and develop automated functional and regression test scripts.
• Work with DevOps teams on continuous testing and test environment setup.
• Participate in design discussions and provide input on functional requirements, product design, and potential issues.
• Support audit-compliant testing processes and quality assurance across cross-site teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on development experience.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with unit, acceptance, performance, non-functional, and certification testing, plus BDD/TDD methodologies.
• Experience with API testing using SOAP UI, Postman, REST clients, and frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium, and Gherkin.
• Experience with Jenkins-based continuous integration, Git, and functional programming languages such as Go, Scala, or Erlang.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed databases, distributed computing, and high-frequency transactions.
• Knowledge of hirify.global business processes and payment applications.
