Buyer, Staff (Nuclear)

Salary: $60,000–$65,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage the complete purchase order lifecycle, from sourcing and RFQs through supplier selection, negotiation, receipt, discrepancy resolution, and closeout.
• Procure direct and indirect materials, including electrical and electronic components, cable assemblies, connectors, hardware, and technical services.
• Review blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other technical documentation to clarify supplier requirements.
• Track orders and shipments, expedite critical or late materials, and communicate supply and delivery risks.
• Resolve delivery, receiving, invoice, pricing, quality, and supplier discrepancies, including RMAs, returns, replacements, credits, and corrective actions.
• Develop supplier relationships, support vendor onboarding and performance management, and identify sourcing alternatives and cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply-chain, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Experience with RFQs, quotation analysis, supplier negotiation, purchase order management, expediting, and supplier relationship management.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of material, and related documentation.
• Experience with direct and indirect procurement and ERP/MRP purchasing systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; an associate degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrical or electronic components, cable assemblies, connectors, and electrical hardware.
• Experience with engineered or customer-specific products.
• Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, highly regulated, or other quality-sensitive manufacturing environments.
• Experience with blanket orders, scheduled releases, consignment, vendor-managed inventory, and supplier onboarding programs.
