Quantum Control Designer

Location: Remote work is available, but candidates must be based in Germany; the role can also be based in Hamburg.

What you will do

• Design control methods for high-fidelity and fast quantum operations.
• Develop accurate physics models based on real hardware specifications.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to implement new methods on quantum devices.
• Develop procedures for benchmarking quantum operations.
• Analyse experimental results against theoretical predictions and models.

Requirements

• Experience designing control methods for high-fidelity quantum operations.
• Strong knowledge of light-matter interaction theory and software modelling of quantum dynamics.
• Experience collaborating with experimental research groups or the quantum hardware industry.
• Experience with circuit-level quantum noise models and quantum-operation benchmarking.
• Proficiency in scientific programming, including Python, and a PhD in quantum computing, quantum control, or a related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published research results.

Nice to have

• Experience with quantum gates in ion-trap devices.
• Qiskit experience.
