What you will do
- Design and optimize quantum control strategies for gate fidelity, state preparation, and measurement.
- Develop pulse-shaping and feedback-stabilization schemes for the cat-qubit platform.
- Build numerical models and simulations to evaluate control strategies at scale.
- Validate performance and robustness before deployment on hardware.
- Collaborate with experimentalists, chip design, performance optimization, calibration, and quantum error correction teams to implement and iterate control solutions through production.
- Advance the mathematical foundations, state-of-the-art knowledge, and internal toolkit for qubit control.
Requirements
- 4+ years of research experience in control theory or a related domain after a PhD in applied mathematics, control theory, physics, or a closely related field.
- Strong foundation in mathematical control theory, including model-based and model-free optimal control, controllability, and reinforcement learning.
- Experience controlling dynamical systems and applying numerical modeling, simulation, and scientific computing.
- Familiarity with data-driven control methods and reachability analysis.
- Ability to translate theoretical methods into measurable engineering outcomes and collaborate across research, software, and hardware teams.
- Professional-level English proficiency required in written and spoken communication.
