What you will do

• Conduct theoretical and applied research on near-term quantum computing algorithms, applications, and enabling technologies.
• Design and optimize algorithms for gate-model quantum computers.
• Work on quantum codes, resource analysis, error mitigation, and hardware benchmarking.
• Author research publications, presentations, patent applications, and related outputs.
• Collaborate with full-time staff and affiliated PhD students.
• Support research activities contributing to hirify.global’s growth and commercialisation of quantum computing breakthroughs.

Requirements

• Expertise in quantum information and/or quantum computation theory.
• PhD, or imminent PhD completion, in quantum information, quantum computation theory, theoretical computer science, theoretical physics, or a closely related field.
• Strong publication track record in a relevant discipline.
• Ability to work independently on research projects and collaboratively in a team.
• Flexibility to work across quantum software, underpinning theory, and other company needs.
• Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for learning and novel research.

Nice to have

• Interest in near-term quantum computing.
• Experience implementing algorithms on quantum hardware or in classical emulation.
• Strong theoretical or mathematical research experience with an interest in applying it to quantum computing.
• Software development skills and experience.
