Senior IT Systems Engineer I (Platform)

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and support platform and operating system environments across VMware, Kubernetes, Linux, and Windows Server and Client.
• Provide platform infrastructure expertise and guidance while delivering IT systems and infrastructure projects.
• Lead upgrades, maintenance, continuous improvement, and project deployment for platform infrastructure.
• Implement configuration management standards and Ansible-based automated deployment and maintenance processes.
• Improve infrastructure reliability, high availability, disaster recovery, security compliance, cost control, and environment consistency.
• Maintain system baselines, hardening guides, documentation, and reporting on usage, uptime, and support levels.

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT experience and a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience; 9+ years of total experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in a platform-focused technology role.
• In-depth experience with Ansible.
• In-depth knowledge of one or more of Kubernetes, VMware, Linux configuration management, automation, or Infrastructure as Code.
• For work in the United States, eligibility to meet ITAR requirements is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or required government authorization.

Nice to have

• Scripting, automation, or Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience with ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, IPsec, SSL VPNs, firewalls, or other security technologies.
• LAN/WAN and security product support experience.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization technologies.
