Senior FinOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid role in Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Salary: $126,000–$158,000 USD per year, dependent on experience, location, business needs, and market demand.

What you will do

• Lead cloud financial management initiatives covering cost optimization, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Analyze cloud usage and spending data to identify insights and savings opportunities.
• Own cloud cost management tools, including AWS and DataDog capabilities.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product, and Engineering to embed FinOps principles into business strategy.
• Create cloud usage policies that balance performance, cost, and security.
• Define efficiency metrics, communicate actionable financial insights, and mentor teams on cloud financial best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience driving FinOps practices in large cloud-based organizations.
• Deep experience in cloud financial management, especially AWS and DataDog.
• Cloud engineering or DevOps skills and experience with Infrastructure as Code, primarily Terraform.
• Strong skills in financial reporting, forecasting, cost modeling, and analysis.
• Solid understanding of AWS services and their cost structures.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-influence skills.

• Certifications in AWS, FinOps, or cloud financial management.
