Staff Software Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure & AI DevOps)

Location: Seattle, Washington; hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office and 2 days working from home or flexibly

Salary: $170,000–$250,000 base salary per year, with potential incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate secure, highly available AWS infrastructure for the platform and its products.
• Own infrastructure as code with AWS CDK or Terraform and build reliable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Define backup, disaster recovery, data storage, and processing strategies for scalable and cost-efficient cloud systems.
• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, observability, and security guardrails across the development lifecycle.
• Build workflow automation, debug distributed cloud-native systems, and drive root-cause analysis and durable fixes.
• Implement AI DevOps practices for deploying, monitoring, and operating AI-enabled systems and pipelines in production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with significant systems or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Deep hands-on expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure and strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or an equivalent language.
• Required experience with CI/CD, GitHub, and infrastructure as code; AWS CDK is preferred and Terraform is acceptable.
• Experience with backup strategy, data architecture, disaster recovery, logging, monitoring, observability, workflow automation, and distributed-system debugging.
• Experience implementing security guardrails and understanding AI security risks such as model and data access controls, prompt injection, and secure AI tooling.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks such as ISO 42001 and collaboration tools including Linear, Jira, and Databricks.
