Postdoctoral Fellow (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Design and execute mass-spectrometry-based mechanistic studies of protein fragmentation pathways in biologics.
• Apply stable-isotope solvent-labeling experiments to distinguish hydrolytic, enzymatic, and chemical fragmentation mechanisms.
• Use mass spectrometry, chromatography, and structural analysis to identify fragmentation products, map sites, and characterize reaction intermediates.
• Integrate experimental data with mechanistic and statistical modeling to predict degradation behavior.
• Translate findings into molecule design, formulation, storage, and analytical control strategies.
• Publish research, contribute to intellectual property, and present findings at scientific conferences.

Requirements

• PhD at the time of appointment.
• Background in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, or a related life sciences discipline.
• Independent experience designing, executing, and interpreting experiments, demonstrated through a strong publication record with first-author publications.
• Expertise with ChemDraw, mechanistic biomolecular chemistry, protein chemistry, degradation pathways, peptide mapping, and biologics analytical characterization.
• Experience with LC-MS/MS, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and advanced protein characterization.
• Strong critical-thinking, organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
