Mechanical Commissioning Technician (AI Data Centers)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, or Southaven, Mississippi; full-time onsite with extensive travel to data center construction sites.

What you will do

• Commission chilled-water, condenser-water, cooling-tower, pumping, heat-exchange, air-handling, computer-room cooling, and liquid-cooling systems.
• Perform flush, fill, leak, pressure, flow, temperature, and valve-lineup testing against designs and sequences of operation.
• Complete point-to-point checks with controls technicians and verify sensors, actuators, interlocks, and alarms.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup.
• Create test procedures, scripts, documentation, redlines, punch lists, and commissioning reports.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEM vendors, engineers, and operations teams through integrated testing, training, and system turnover.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical, HVAC, pipefitting, or commissioning experience in data centers, power plants, or large industrial facilities.
• Working knowledge of chilled-water plants, pumping systems, heat-transfer equipment, and mechanical distribution.
• Experience using pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature instruments, leak-detection tools, and other commissioning equipment.
• Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment submittals.
• Current OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training and willingness to follow LOTO and quality procedures.
• Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during critical commissioning windows; ability to travel extensively, work onsite, climb ladders, lift moderate loads, and wear PPE for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Commissioning experience on hyperscale data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with liquid-cooling distribution, cooling towers, and primary/secondary pumping.
• Familiarity with building-management or industrial-control sequences.
• EPA Section 608 certification, a technical degree or trade-school certification, or experience with CxPro, Procore, or similar software.
