Mechanical Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Design and deliver chassis and line card mechanical systems for reliable, scalable networking products.
• Perform 2D and 3D tolerance analyses for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Develop solutions using sheet metal, injection-molded plastic, die-cast, and extrusion processes while addressing EMI, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Create Creo or SolidWorks models, board outline drawings, PCB layout constraints, part and assembly drawings, BOMs, part numbers, and ECOs.
• Design connectors, cable harnesses, and liquid- or force-cooled systems in collaboration with hardware, thermal, manufacturing, PCB, CAD, PLM, and supplier teams.
• Build mock-ups, perform rework and prototype testing, support compliance labs, and produce product silkscreens and overlays.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of mechanical design experience in telecom or data center product development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and preferably Creo with Windchill PDM.
• Knowledge of EIA, ETSI, and OCP rack standards, plus experience with OSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP-XD, and orthogonal backplane systems.
• Expertise in tolerancing and tolerance loops for electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, die casting, extrusion, cable harnesses, cooling systems, and hands-on prototype rework.

Nice to have

• Experience with cabling extensions.
• Familiarity with NEBS testing and compliance.
