Engineer II (Python)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise applications and services using Python, SQL, and related technologies.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and MuleSoft-based integrations for loan servicing and enterprise operations.
• Implement business rules and decisioning solutions with platforms such as Camunda, Drools, and DMN.
• Develop database queries, data processing capabilities, documentation, data flows, and operational support procedures.
• Contribute to software design, architecture decisions, Agile delivery, production support, and compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Create and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes using Azure DevOps, while applying AI-enabled tools and automation opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications and integration solutions.
• Strong experience with Python and SQL, RESTful APIs, service-based architectures, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, troubleshooting, and production-support skills.
• Ability to understand technical and business requirements and adapt to emerging technologies and development practices.
• Work in a flexible hybrid arrangement in Newark, Delaware, United States.

Nice to have

• MuleSoft development and enterprise integration patterns.
• Rules engines and decisioning platforms such as Camunda, Drools, or DMN.
• AWS Cloud, Infrastructure as Code, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and cloud-native design patterns.
• AI-enabled development tools, machine learning capabilities, intelligent automation, Snowflake, data engineering, or analytics-focused development.
• Experience in financial services, banking, lending, student loan servicing, or highly regulated environments.
