Sr. ABAP BTP Engineer (SAP)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid 70/30 work model with 70% of work performed in the office. Only U.S. persons are eligible due to U.S. export control requirements.

Salary: $130,800–$209,400 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support SAP solutions across ABAP, SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA, Fiori/UI5, RAP, CAP, and related extensibility frameworks.
• Build advanced ABAP solutions including reports, interfaces, enhancements, APIs, workflows, BADIs, BAPIs, forms, and object-oriented components.
• Develop modern BTP applications using Business Application Studio, HANA Cloud, Integration Suite, Workflow, Event Mesh, and related services.
• Create scalable SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications and support clean-core and side-by-side extension strategies.
• Design integrations across SAP and non-SAP platforms using APIs, middleware, and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Support SAP Joule and Business AI use cases by integrating backend services and enterprise content with appropriate security, governance, and business context.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of SAP development experience, including deep ABAP expertise and 3+ years of SAP BTP development and extensibility.
• Strong hands-on experience with ABAP development in SAP S/4HANA, including RICEFW objects, object-oriented ABAP, enhancements, APIs, interfaces, workflows, forms, and debugging.
• Deep knowledge of SAP BTP, Fiori/UI5, RAP, CAP, clean-core principles, side-by-side extensibility, and SAP integration patterns.
• Working knowledge of SAP Business AI capabilities, including SAP Joule, Joule Studio, AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub, prompt design, grounding, security, authorization, privacy, and responsible use.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export control laws; non-U.S. persons cannot be sponsored for an export control license.

Nice to have

• Experience in an FDA-regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
• Experience reviewing solution designs, supporting technical delivery, and collaborating across technical, functional, and business teams.
