Contracting HVAC Controls Technician

Location: North Charleston, South Carolina; field-based work conducted on-site at customer locations.

Salary: $16.64–$40.77 per hour

What you will do

• Commission, program, configure graphics and communications links, and perform end-to-end testing for assigned HVAC controls projects.
• Troubleshoot, service, diagnose, and repair equipment and direct digital control systems at customer locations.
• Document point-to-point verification, sequence-of-operations validation, and project closeout requirements.
• Coordinate with team leaders and customers to plan installations and repairs, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
• Maintain current knowledge of Trane product installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
• Enforce safety standards and remain flexible for overtime, business-required workweeks, and occasional overnight stays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically 3–5 years of HVAC or controls experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver's license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions during the previous 3 years.
• Ability to work on-site at customer locations and meet safety-sensitive role requirements, including potential additional drug screening.

Nice to have

• Technical school or formal technical training.
• Previous experience with DDC control systems.
