Satellite Operations Engineer

Location: Onsite in Longmont, Colorado, United States, with 24/7 rotational shift work on a five-week rotating schedule.

Salary: $74,000–$98,000–$107,800 annually in Colorado, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Perform pre-contact verifications with Mission Control Systems Ground Control Engineers to establish reliable communication with spacecraft.
• Execute spacecraft tasking, planning, commanding, and state-of-health assessments across the constellation.
• Analyze out-of-contact telemetry trends to monitor spacecraft health and safety.
• Investigate spacecraft limit violations and escalate undocumented issues to Flight Operations Managers or Spacecraft Engineering.
• Recognize anomalous spacecraft conditions, update ground limits, and maintain operational compliance with system changes.
• Generate spacecraft availability reports and maintain proficiency across spacecraft subsystems.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret U.S. Government security clearance are required.
• Associate’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; two additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least two years of experience in an operational environment.
• Availability for 24/7 rotational shift work on a five-week rotating schedule.
• Strong written and oral communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Calm disposition in stressful situations and a curious approach to operational issues.
