Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Hybrid working with 4 days in the London office and 1 day from home; occasional travel to stores is required.

Salary: Up to £45,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional compensation for on-call participation.

Growing UK-based retail business operating a large multi-site estate across stores, Head Office and operational locations.

What you will do

• Maintain and support IT infrastructure across stores, Head Office and operational locations.
• Troubleshoot networking, connectivity, server, endpoint and infrastructure issues, acting as an escalation point for complex incidents.
• Support retail technology including POS/EPOS systems, tills, payment devices and store systems.
• Deliver technical readiness for new store openings, refurbishments, relocations and infrastructure rollouts.
• Administer networking, Microsoft, virtualised and wider infrastructure environments.
• Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, field engineers and internal stakeholders while contributing to documentation and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of hands-on IT infrastructure or systems support experience.
• Experience in retail, multi-site or geographically distributed environments.
• Strong networking knowledge covering LAN/WAN, VPN, switching and Wi-Fi, with experience using Fortinet/FortiGate, Meraki or comparable technologies.
• Working knowledge of VMware and/or Hyper-V.
• Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, stakeholder communication and ownership skills.

Nice to have

• POS/EPOS or other retail technology experience.
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects, deployments or new store openings.
• Experience in fast-moving logistics or commerce platforms.
