Private Cloud – Network Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, 40% or two days per week in the Manchester or Leeds office, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve network technologies supporting the private cloud ecosystem.
• Deliver secure, high-performing network services and continuously improve cloud platforms.
• Use infrastructure-as-code and automation-first practices to enable safe, repeatable change and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product teams, senior stakeholders, and external partners.
• Contribute to infrastructure roadmaps, risk and security initiatives, and platform resilience.
• Support engineering capability by sharing expertise and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer working with cloud environments.
• Expert knowledge of networking technologies and services, including NSX, VXLAN, ACI, and BGP.
• Strong troubleshooting and network technology support experience.
• Strong experience writing technical design documents.
• Availability for participation in an escalation on-call rota.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and supporting NSX networks.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, and automated network deployment and configuration.
• Knowledge of VXLAN/Geneve, VMware virtual infrastructure, and service design methodologies.
• Experience with large-scale data migrations, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.
