Global Category Manager

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working

What you will do

• Develop and maintain multi-year category strategies and sourcing pipelines for Legal Services and Group Insurance.
• Lead material, high-profile, or high-risk sourcing activities from market analysis through tendering, negotiation, evaluation, and contract signature.
• Negotiate rates, discounts, value-adds, KPIs, gainshare arrangements, statements of work, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, quarterly business reviews, performance scorecards, improvement plans, and escalations.
• Embed hirify.global Marketplace, supplier panels, spend controls, and best-practice procurement processes across business units.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and stakeholders in the UK, Europe, and the US on procurement governance and compliance.

Requirements

• Strong procurement, vendor management, sourcing, negotiation, and commercial governance experience.
• Experience managing supplier performance through SLAs, KPIs, scorecards, and continuous improvement plans.
• Knowledge of contractual terms, legislative and regulatory requirements, data protection, confidentiality, liability, conflicts of interest, audit rights, and anti-bribery controls.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead across matrix structures, manage change, and communicate clearly.
• Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems.
• Degree or equivalent experience in business, procurement, finance, law, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience negotiating Legal Services spend.
• Professional procurement qualification such as CIPS Level 5/6 or equivalent.
• Contract management, compliance, data protection, anti-bribery, or negotiation training.
