Mid-Level Python Developer (Backend)

What you will do

• Own backend features end-to-end, from schema design and API development through production deployment.
• Develop clean, well-tested asynchronous Python services using frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Integrate services with PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy or SQLModel, caching layers, and asynchronous message queues.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools to prototype, generate boilerplate, expand test coverage, and debug efficiently.
• Optimize query performance and ensure reliability in production through automated testing and structured logging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads and client teams on technical specifications, code reviews, and iterative delivery.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Python 3.11+, including asyncio, typing, and REST API frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Practical experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL, SQL, and ORM-based data modeling.
• Experience with automated testing using pytest, code-quality practices, structured logging, and Git workflows.
• Experience shipping production code, working with Docker containers, and understanding deployment processes.
• Professional fluency in English and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or other AI coding tools.
• Knowledge of integrating AI or LLM components into backend workflows, including LangChain or vector databases.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, modern package managers, linters, or formatters.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• German language skills at B2+ level.
