Tech Lead Python Developer (MCP)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) services and protocol adapters using Python.
• Design and implement REST and asynchronous APIs with FastAPI.
• Lead technical design discussions, guide architecture decisions, and mentor engineers.
• Build secure enterprise integrations using OAuth 2.0, AWS SigV4, JWT, and related authentication mechanisms.
• Define canonical service contracts and OpenAPI specifications, and implement observability with OpenTelemetry.
• Collaborate with security, architecture, and platform teams on governance, documentation, deployment, and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Python backend development experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing MCP servers or similar tool protocol adapters.
• Experience developing REST and asynchronous APIs with FastAPI or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience with MCP standards, enterprise authentication, OpenAPI specifications, canonical service contracts, and OpenTelemetry.
• Strong understanding of API architecture, integration patterns, and distributed systems.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS AgentCore Gateway, LangGraph, Strands, or similar agent frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise governance, architecture reviews, and information security reviews.
• Knowledge of AI agent platforms and modern AI integration architectures.
• Experience with cloud-native application development on AWS.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration and platform engineering practices.
