Senior Project Manager

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid working with at least 50% of working time per month in the office. New team members initially work full-time in the office.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of technology-led projects and initiatives supporting strategic objectives.
• Deliver complex IT projects through the full lifecycle, from project entry to go-live and post-implementation.
• Prioritise projects, monitor initiatives led by other Project Managers and subject-matter experts, and report portfolio health to sponsors and stakeholders.
• Mentor and potentially line-manage less experienced Project Managers.
• Coordinate internal resources and third-party suppliers delivering combined internal and external solutions.
• Manage budgets, resource forecasts, risks, dependencies, change control, and customer-impact considerations.

Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge and experience from a technology background, with the ability to understand technical topics quickly.
• Experience producing business cases, project initiation documents, and other project documentation.
• Strong communication, relationship management, planning, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good business and commercial knowledge with high attention to detail.
• Experience delivering technology change in a financially regulated environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of financial services, including pensions, investments, or stockbroking, is beneficial.

Nice to have

• PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
• Experience with Agile or software development lifecycle methodologies.
