Principal Software Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Onsite, with an expectation of primarily working from an HPE office

What you will do

• Guide the design and development of reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for assigned systems and subsystems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and create integration plans aligned with technology roadmaps and business value.
• Review designs and project activities for compliance with development standards, improving product quality and reducing failure risk.
• Analyze complex application, system administration, network, engineering, and business data processing problems.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Typically 10–15 years of professional experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and Golang.
• Deep knowledge of networking protocols, network architectures, network security, software systems design, and development methodologies.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating scalable SaaS applications in public cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain architectures, present design proposals, and negotiate options with business and executive stakeholders.
