What you will do

• Identify and solve challenging systems, process, and tooling issues to improve customer outcomes.
• Design and implement new software components, products, or services to increase operational efficiency.
• Investigate technical issues thoroughly, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Maintain and improve services end-to-end by troubleshooting and identifying root causes.
• Design and implement testing, monitoring, and validation improvements across services, tools, and infrastructure.
• Proactively invent and develop automation and tools to reduce manual operations across teams.

Requirements

• Experience programming with at least one modern language: Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Relevant experience in software development, systems engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the full SDLC (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations).
• Practical understanding of network fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals: host networking, storage, and Linux operating systems.
• UK national and able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience designing, developing, or operating cloud services on AWS or another cloud platform.
• Experience with Python.
