Sr. Counsel (Payments or Fintech): Providing strategic legal advice for hirify.global’s commercial and money movement payment products with an accent on commercial contracts, regulatory matters, privacy, and intellectual property. Focus on navigating complex cross-border regulations, negotiating product and pilot agreements, improving contracting efficiency, and supporting business expansion across Europe and globally.

Location: Hybrid position based in London, United Kingdom; office attendance expectations will be confirmed by the hiring manager.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice to the Commercial & Money Movement Solutions team, including hirify.global Direct and hirify.global Commercial Solutions.
• Advise on commercial, product, regulatory, privacy, and intellectual property matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and develop contracts, including pilot agreements and standard forms.
• Support regulatory engagement, business expansion, and cross-border product development across Europe and globally.
• Identify opportunities to improve contracting efficiency through self-service and contract automation.
• Coordinate with internal specialists and external counsel, manage outside counsel budgets, and train business teams on legal processes and policies.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in England and Wales with ideally 8+ years of post-qualification experience; candidates qualified in other jurisdictions may also be considered.
• Experience working in a regulated business, recognised law firm, and/or in-house legal environment.
• Strong legal drafting, contract negotiation, relationship management, written communication, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to identify emerging industry issues, develop practical responses, and navigate complex organizational and cross-functional matters.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment with high integrity and intellectual curiosity.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the payments industry and applicable regulation, including non-card payments.
• Experience in financial services or with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional products and services.
