Forward Deployed Engineer (Data & AI)

Location: Berlin or Munich, Germany; travel to customers 20% of the time.

What you will do

• Build and productionize end-to-end solutions for customer data and AI challenges.
• Own architecture and lead design decisions for secure, scalable production systems.
• Design and deliver reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integrations.
• Guide enterprise customers through technical implementation, evaluation, adoption, and transformational big data projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineering, customer support, and customer stakeholders to deliver projects and resolve implementation issues.
• Create reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts and inform the product roadmap.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software engineering.
• Ability to write production code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of at least two cloud ecosystems among AWS, Azure, and GCP, with expertise in one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, ML/AI models, AI APIs, and end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects for enterprise clients, managing scope and timelines, documenting solutions, and handling broad stakeholder groups.
